Mini Dental Implants (MDI) Seminar
Course Description:
The MDI Seminar is designed for dentists who want to expand their practice regimens by adding the innovative MDI minimally invasive implant system as a definitive solution for patients with loose dentures.    You will learn how Mini Dental Implants can help build your practice by offering a solution to denture patients who may be contra-indicated for conventional implant treatments.    This hands-on course emphasizes MDI treatment planning, case selection, implant placement protocol, and restorative techniques.  In addition it will include a brief overview of advanced MDI indications, such as, partial dentures and single unit crowns. 
Course Objectives:
  1. Learn minimally invasive placement protocols with the 3M MDI system
  2. Learn successful case selection and case planning strategies 
  3. Learn successful case selection and case planning strategies 
  4. Understand what is unique and different between full dentures, partial dentures, and C&B
  5. Recognize the indications and contraindications for the use of 3M Mini Dental Implants
  6. Understand anatomy as it pertains to minimally invasive implantology
  7. Learn proper approaches to post-operative care

Bio/Qualifications: 

Dr. Gregory Sawyer has been serving the needs of Santa Clara County since 1978 He received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Southern California in 1973, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude. He received his D.D.S. from U.S.C in 1977 with honors (OKU) after having served as the class president. Residency was done at U.C.L.A. in Hospital and General Dentistry.

Dr. Sawyer is a member of the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the International Association of Computer Dentistry, the Sleep Disorders Dental Society, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the Association of Osseointegration, and is a Fellow in the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He is a registered continuing education provider, and travels around the world lecturing to other dentists about dental implants (see his lecture schedule here). He is married with two school age sons.

Dr. Sawyer is a consultant to Suni Imaging Microsystems, the leading manufacturer of digital X-raysensors in North America, and a consultant and trainer for Lares Research, a manufacturer of dental lasers. In his spare time, he bicycles, referees soccer games, skis, sings bass in a barbershop quartet, and plays golf (however badly).
